  • THE BENGALS HOSTED A MEET AT THE JOHN GIBSON TRACK AND FIELD COMPLEX FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER FIFTEEN YEARS AS THEY WELCOMED NEIGHBORS NUTLEY AND BELLEVILLE. THE LOCALS WERE ANYTHING BUT HOSPITABLE AS THEY SWEPT BOTH OPPONENTS BOYS AND GIRLS SQUADS. FORMER HEAD COACH PAUL WILLIAMS RETURNED AND SERVED AS STARTER FOR THE EVENT. THE DAY WAS A SUCCESS BY ALL ACCOUNTS-HIGHLIGHTED BY THREE POLE VAULTERS CLEARING THE OPENING HEIGHT. BLOOMFIELD’S FIRST VAULTERS IN OVER A DECADE. LATER IN THE WEEK THE TEAM COMPETED AT THE MORRIS HILLS RELAYS WITH GIRLS 4X100 AND 4X200 BOTH FINISHING IN FOURTH PLACE. BOYS DISCUS GARNERED A FIFTH PLACE FINISH AND THE SHUTTLE HURDLERS CAME HOME SIXTH.

 

  • VOLLEYBALL RAISED THEIR RECORD TO 5-1 WITH WINS OVER NEWARK EAST SIDE, BELLEVILLE AND GOLDA OCH. BELLEVILLE CAME IN AS THE 19TH RANKED TEAM IN THE STATE BUT A DETERMINED BLOOMFIELD CONTINGENT SWEPT THEM IN TWO GAMES. THE BOYS CONCLUDED THEIR WEEK HOSTING NINE TOP TWENTY TEAMS IN THE BLOOMFIELD INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT. THIS LEVEL OF COMPETITION SHOULD SERVE THE BENGALS WELL AS THEY PREPARE FOR THE ESSEX COUNTY TOURNAMENT. THE TEAM IS SEEDED SECOND BEHIND RIVAL LIVINGSTON.
