About Linda

Hi, I'm Linda Federico-O'Murchu, Bloomfield Local Editor at Patch.com.  For the past year and half I've worked as a reporter, photographer and interim editor at Montclair Patch and other Patch sites across Essex County, before becoming the Patch Bloomfield Editor in September 2011.

I have worked in many capacities in media, publishing and the arts through the years.  I worked at Newsweek magazine, North Jersey Media and as a freelance writer and photographer.  For many years I worked in the New York gallery scene and exhibited my own work (painting and photography) in galleries across the US.  I graduated from Pratt Institute with a degree in photography and Communications Design.  I have participated in photography workshops in Santa Fe and Puerto Rico and my work has appeared in The New York Times and American Photo.  I have been a member of Studio Montclair and the American Society of Media Photographers.  I have always been a writer as well, writing for myself and organizing a Children's Literary Salon for 3 years in Montclair.  I've alternated between art, writing and photography all my life.

I live in Montclair with my husband and two kids and have a twin sister who lives in Bloomfield.  I graduated from Pratt Institute with a degree in Photography and Communications Design. I met my husband, who is from Ireland, after spending a month photographing Belfast, Ireland.  We were married in Italy and lived in Paris for 2 years, where my daughter was born.  After moving stateside, my son was born at St. Barnabus in Livingston.  We have 4 rescue pets - 2 cats & 2 dogs - all of whom have a colorful past.
