Bloomfield Residents to March in Newark's St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Parade will take place Friday March 16

 

Members of the Bloomfield community will participate in the Newark St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Friday, March 16.  

The 77th Newark St. Patrick’s Day Parade committee includes Bloomfield residents Sergeant-at-Arms Terrence J. O’Reilly, Robert Ruane and Patricia Darcy Ruane. Robert Ruane is a former member of the Bloomfield township council.

The parade will begin with Grandstand ceremonies at 12:00 pm, followed by the official parade at 1:00 pm.  The parade will commence on Mulberry Street at the Prudential Center and end in front of the Newark Museum and Washington Park.   Along the way it will pass the Gateway Complex, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Military Park on Center Street and the St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

2012 marks the event’s 77th year, making it the oldest St. Patrick’s Day parade in New Jersey.
