Lembo Family: A 'Hearfelt Thanks' to Bloomfield

Family of 16-year-old Christina Lembo, killed in Broughton Ave. car crash, thanks community for support

To the editor: Facing the loss of a loved one is truly a time where one's faith can be tested. Each day continues to be a struggle for our family to accept the tragic loss of our beautiful Christina. While we believe she is in a much better place, it continues to be difficult for us to let go. Although we are struggling with this deep sadness, we find comfort in knowing how fortunate we and Christina have been to know all of you. We also would like to acknowledge the people whom we have never had the pleasure of meeting, who so graciously supported us in so many ways during our time of need. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all of you for your generous support, kind gestures, beautiful sentiments and expressions of love …

Nutley High Collecting Funds for Christina Lembo

In game against Bloomfield Saturday, admission will be waived

Those planning to attend the matchup between Nutley and Bloomfield Saturday in Nutley won't be asked to pay admission to watch the gridiron contest. Instead, they’ll be asked to make a donation to the family of a young woman whose death earlier this month shook communities throughout the area, NJ.com reported. Christina Lembo, 16, was killed in a car accident in which another youth was also injured. Hundreds attended a funeral as well as a candlelight vigil for the varsity soccer player, while Belleville High School students have worn her number, 3, in her honor in the past few weeks. Clifton High School also honored Lembo’s memory with a moment of silence before a recent game against Bloomfield. The funds raised Saturday will be shared …

The latest in the Memphis the pit bull saga has the Bloomfield council and Board of Health (BOH) once again pitted against each other. Christina Lembo Memorialized in Tearful Candlelight Vigil

Bloomfield High School junior and soccer star was killed late Saturday night in a car crash on Broughton Avenue

The corner of Broughton Avenue and Walter Street fell completely silent Sunday night, as hundreds of Bloomfield High School students paid tribute to one of their own in an awesome display of Bengal pride. Holding candles and bouquets of flowers, some teens loudly sobbed while others stood quietly in prayer at the scene of a horrific car accident that claimed the life of 16-year-old Christina Lembo, a well-liked soccer star and Bloomfield High School student best remembered for her smile. "She was a nice girl, always laughing," said Monika Pollick, whose 15-year-old daughter, Leah, played soccer with Lembo for years. Nearly 24 hours earlier, Lembo was killed when the Honda Civic she was in the backseat of collided with a Chevrolet Camaro …
