Bloomfield resident suffered non-life threatening injuries in early morning accident
A Bloomfield woman was hit by a car while crossing the street just before 7 a.m. Friday, police said. The woman, believed to be in her 30s, suffered a leg injury when she was hit by a car on Broad Street and Belleville Avenue, according to Sgt. Anthony Servedio, Bloomfield Police Department spokesperson. She was transported to Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car, also a Bloomfield resident, was summonsed for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, Servedio said.
