PATH Will Run 24/7 on New Year's Eve, Day

The Port Authority made the announcement on Monday.

  Don't worry about leaving your New Year's Eve Party in Hoboken early. The PATH is running 24/7 on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced Monday.  This will be the first time the PATH is running round the clock since Hurricane Sandy.  Until then, service runs between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. every day. The Hoboken station was reopened last week after being closed for nearly two months.  From the Port Authority's announcement:  On Tuesday, Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve, between the hours of 5 a.m. and 10 p.m., PATH trains will run both ways from Newark to the World Trade Center, Journal Square to 33rd Street, and Hoboken and 33rd Street. Letters of Intent Signed for New Development

A Foodtown supermarket and a Subway sandwich shop may soon be renting space in Bloomfield’s new town center development.

  A letter of intent has been signed by Metro Real Estate Development Corporation to lease retail space to a Foodtown supermarket and a Subway sandwich shop in Bloomfield’s new development, according to Principal Developer Bill Colgan. “Subway will be opening up, and we’re negotiating right now for a lease with Foodtown,” Colgan told Patch at a recent meeting at his Broad Street offices.  Colgan’s announcement may come as a surprise to some town residents who have protested the idea of installing a Foodtown in the new development.  First introduced by Township Attorney Joe Baumann at a township council meeting on June 25, the idea met with some resistance from community members who said they hoped for a high-end anchor store to attract a …
