Bloomfield Schools Receive 2.5 Percent Increase in State Aid
Unclear how funding will impact budgeting.
Following the down vote this week on a controversial budget, New Jersey officials announced that the Bloomfield school district will receive $500,000 more in state aid than in the 2012-2013 budget. The Bloomfield School Board will hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday, March 5 to discuss the budget. It is not known what impact the state aid announcement will have on that discussion. According to an announcement from Governor Chris Christie’s office, the state has issued a $97.3 million increase in education aid overall.
