BMS Principal Goncalves Wins William A. Cuff Educator Award

Salvatore Goncalves honored for work on inclusive iSTEM Education.

Bloomfield Middle School Principal Salvatore Goncalves was awarded the 2013 William A. Cuff Educator Award by a selection committee of the Center of Pedagogy/MSUNER and the Dean's Office of the College of Education and Human Services at Montclair State University.    This award is presented to an educator who has made a significant contribution through teaching or administration.    This William A. Cuff Educator Award is in recognition of his collaborative work on inclusive iSTEM Education in partnership with faculty from the Department of Secondary and Special Education.    Mr. Goncalves received the honor at an Awards Ceremony on the campus of MSU on April 10.   He was presented the award by Dr. Francine Peterman, Dean of the College of …

Bloomfield Students Place in Forensics Competition

Bloomfield middle school students placed 2nd overall in the Essex County Forensics Interpretive Reading Competition.

  The Bloomfield Middle School Forensics Team won several awards at the Essex County Forensics Interpretive Reading Competition earlier this week. Seventh-grader Sophie Bell won 4th place overall and eighth-grader Zoe Gilmore won 2nd place overall.  In addition, the team's combined scores won them 2nd place in the county. The following students were on the Bloomfield student team:
