The Essex Fells PTA and the Essex Fells Foundation for Educational Excellence have announced that 50% of proceeds from the upcoming Holiday Home Tour and Boutique will be donated to New Jersey schools impacted by Hurricane Sandy. The second annual Holiday Home Tour and Boutique will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 11. The self-guided house tour, open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offers a rare opportunity to peek inside eight exclusive Essex Fells' homes. The smallest community in Essex County has just over 700 homes with an average age of 59 years and a median home value of $1.6 million. Aims to give New Jersey municipalities a say over reality shows.
Worried that your town may become the next Snookiville? Well, a bill introduced Monday aims to arm New Jersey municipalities with the right to regulate reality TV shows. Dubbed the "Snookiville Law," the bill introduced by Assemblyman Ronald Dancer (R-12) would allow towns to impose conditions on shows like the "Snooki & JWoww" production that began filming in Manchester in August or the previous installments of "Jersey Shore" that filmed in Seaside Heights and Toms River. “The popularity of MTV’s 'Jersey Shore' and other reality shows can attract crowds to a community,” Dancer said in a news release. “That can be great for local businesses and a costly challenge to a town’s ability to control crowds and protect public safety." MTV's Jersey Shore may soon be history, but will images of drunken misbehavior, boardwalk brawls and ample helpings of "gym, tan, laundry" characterize the Garden State for years to come? On Thursday, MTV announced the show would not return after its sixth season, taped this summer in Seaside Heights, airs this fall. But what is the lasting impact of the TV series that many say put the worst of the state's stereotypes on display for millions of viewers across the world? Final season will begin airing in October
Love or hate its rambunctious cast, the show that made Seaside Heights famous - or, at least, infamous - is going off the air. MTV announced Thursday afternoon its hit series "Jersey Shore" will end after a recently-taped season airs this fall. The sixth season of the series, which since 2009 has chronicled the oft-drunken misadventures of eight 20-somethings living in a house on Ocean Terrace in Seaside Heights, will premier Oct. 4 at 10 p.m. The network will air "Gym, Tan, Look Back" as part of a farewell marathon Sept. 6, and the cast will make an appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards that night. Welcome Lorenzo, meet Mama Snooki. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, one of the stars of 'Jersey Shore,' gave birth this morning at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Lorenzo Dominic LaValle was born just before 3 a.m., NJ.com reports. The baby boy weighs 6 pounds, 5 ounces and is healthy according to a report by MTV. Snooki is engaged to reality TV star Jionni LaValle. This is her first child.

Ronald Ortiz Margo, known as Ronnie on the reality show, was charged with simple assault after a bar fight last weekend
Another member of MTV's "Jersey Shore" cast is in trouble. Ronald Ortiz Margo, known as "Ronnie," is the subject of a simple assault complaint filed by a private citizen, according to Seaside Heights Det. Steve Korman. Justin Viterito, age and hometown not given, filed the complaint on Wednesday, June 13, Korman said, in the wake of a fight at Bamboo Bar that occurred on Saturday, June 9. The assault claim comes just days after another cast member, Deena Cortese of New Egypt, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after dancing in the middle of a street and stopping traffic.

Rain could put a damper on beach plans for one of the last summer weekends but that doesn't mean there isn't still plenty to do down the Shore: New Jersey native and teen pop star Joe Jonas will perform free in Seaside Heights at noon Friday on Carteret Avenue. The member of the Jonas Brothers will debut his new song "See No More" as part of a live broadcast on B98.5 FM.
