Bloomfield Physicians on 'Top Docs' List

Local doctors selected by their peers in annual NJ Monthly survey. Did your doc make the list?

  There were nine doctors with practices in Bloomfield included on New Jersey Monthly's 2012 list of "New Jersey's Top Doctors." The issue is on newsstands now.  The magazine polled 22,780 New Jersey doctors and asked them who they considered the state's best. The Week in Review: Crime Rates, Low School Surplus and Doctor Found Not Guilty of Sexually Abusing Patients

Here is a rundown of what happened this week in town.

A Bloomfield doctor accused of sexually assaulting multiple female patients was found not guilty by an Essex County Superior Court judge on Friday.  A bomb threat referencing Montclair High School and its cross town rival Bloomifeld prompted the evacuation of Montclair students and faculty around 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to a school official.  A good Samaritan was hit in the face with a gun while trying to interrupt a robbery of three young men at gunpoint, according to the Bloomfield Police Department.  The Bloomfield School District budget will end the year in the black, but a lower than usual surplus may end up having an impact on next year’s tax levy.  A Bloomfield teenager was carjacked at gunpoint last weekend, according to …

Bloomfield Doctor Found Not Guilty of Sexually Abusing 12 Female Patients

Raymond Russomanno, 68, was found guilty of harassment on Friday. He was also tried in 2011 and found guilty of groping a 27-year-old female patient.

  A Bloomfield doctor accused of sexually assaulting multiple female patients was found not guilty by an Essex County Superior Court judge on Friday.  Ray Russomanno, 68, was found not guilty of two counts of second-degree sexual assault, two counts of attempted sexual assault, and 12 counts of criminal sexual misconduct.  However, Russomanno was found guilty of 12 counts of harassment, which could bring a maximum term in prison of 30 days per count.  Twelve women alleged they were attending routine medical visits between 2003 and 2007 when Russomanno touched their breasts, buttocks and other areas in a sexually manner, according to Essex County Prosecutor’s Office spokeswoman Katherine Carter.  The women who alleged the sexual misconduct …
