James Verbist will begin his tenure next week.
The Bloomfield school district will have a new business administrator starting next week. The Bloomfield Board of Education voted this week to approve the appointment of James Verbist, of Paramus, as interim business administrator. Verbist will begin his term on Monday. Verbist will take over for Michael Derderia, who served about 11 years in the district. The interim position will bring with it a daily rate of $625. Superintendent Jason Bing was unable to be reached for comment.
The elementary school teacher will now move on to the state's Teacher of the Year competition.
A kindergarten teacher was named Bloomfield school district’s teacher of the year, and will now move on to the statewide Teacher of the Year competition. Linda Strutz was selected as the district teacher of the year among hundreds of other teachers in Bloomfield's 11 schools.
