Bloomfield Doctor Found Not Guilty of Sexually Abusing 12 Female Patients
Raymond Russomanno, 68, was found guilty of harassment on Friday. He was also tried in 2011 and found guilty of groping a 27-year-old female patient.
A Bloomfield doctor accused of sexually assaulting multiple female patients was found not guilty by an Essex County Superior Court judge on Friday. Ray Russomanno, 68, was found not guilty of two counts of second-degree sexual assault, two counts of attempted sexual assault, and 12 counts of criminal sexual misconduct. However, Russomanno was found guilty of 12 counts of harassment, which could bring a maximum term in prison of 30 days per count. Twelve women alleged they were attending routine medical visits between 2003 and 2007 when Russomanno touched their breasts, buttocks and other areas in a sexually manner, according to Essex County Prosecutor’s Office spokeswoman Katherine Carter.
