Three men allegedly stole boy's cell phone, watch and cash.
Three men robbed a teen at gunpoint last week on Berkeley Place, Bloomfield police said. A teen male and his father told police on May 13 at about 6 p.m. he had just been robbed at gunpoint about 10 minutes earlier, police said. The victim said he was walking on Berkeley Place near Bloomfield Avenue when a black Nissan Maxima passed him twice on the road. The victim said the vehicle was driven by a white female, had a white female in the front seat and three black men in the back, police said. Bloomfield police say an 18-year-old township resident sprayed a woman in the face during incident near Liberty Street and JFK Drive.
A Bloomfield teen pepper-sprayed a woman during a road rage incident last week near the corner of Liberty Street and John F. Kennedy Drive, police said. Rajee Montgomery, 18, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. According to Bloomfield Police, a 51-year-old female township resident reported on May 14 to Officer Mark Moskal at police headquarters that she was involved in a road rage incident earlier that morning at 8:45 a.m. She said a man driving a small white car cut her off, causing her to take evasive action, police said. Late model Range Rover found abandoned in Newark.
A man allegedly stole a late model sports-utility vehicle at gunpoint outside a Bloomfield shopping center and then abandoned the vehicle earlier this month, police report. Bloomfield police say on Monday, April 8 at 10:38 a.m. a 52-year-old Cedar Grove resident was carjacked at gunpoint in the shopping plaza at 135 Bloomfield Ave. The victim reported the suspect, a black male in his early 20s, approximately 5’9” tall and wearing a black hoodie, sweatpants and a red mask, opened the driver’s side door of her 2011 Range Rover and pointed a small silver handgun at her. Three juveniles and one adult male were charged in connection with three township robberies.
The Bloomfield Police Department Detective Division and Youth Aid Bureau have made several arrests in connection with robberies that occurred in February and March. Police say the robberies include the March 8 street crime where four assailants jumped and robbed a 44-year-old Bloomfield man. Police say two of the suspects were allegedly involved in a failed robbery of a liquor store involving a fake gun. In addition, police believe the four suspects are also connected to a February robbery of a Mini-Mart store. Davonte Deans, 19, of Bloomfield was charged with robbery and held on a $100,000 bond for his alleged part in the Belleville Avenue robbery. Young daughter was reportedly standing unsecured in back seat of the car; driver allegedly reached for baseball bat as police approached.
Police say that a Newark man reached for a baseball bat after being pulled over for violating motor vehicle laws while driving drunk with his young daughter in his car. According to a police report, Raul Campoverde, 25, sped past a Bloomfield police cruiser waiting at a red light. According to the officers in the car, Jennifer Horn and Caesar Mazzeo, Campoverde shot through the red light at about 80 MPH in a gray, four door, Honda Accord. The officers followed the Honda eastbound on Bloomfield Ave. and watched abruptly turned into a driveway and stop behind a building. Bloomfield police say men had shattered a car window and tampered with ignition before police caught them.
Bloomfield police officers interrupted two East Orange men in the middle of an attempted car theft, police said. Officers responded to a report of two suspicious men sitting in a car near Berkeley Avenue and Fairview Place at 9:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, according to a report. The two men inside the car, Darrell Diggs, 29, and Davonte Mitchell, 20, reportedly fled the car when Bloomfield Officers Robert Kish and Godson Noel flashed the lights on their squad car. Replica weapon reportedly shattered when wrested from man's hands.
Police say two men unsuccessfully attempted to rob a Montgomery street store last weekend. According to a police report, on Saturday, March 2, two men entered a store on the 100 block of Montgomery St. intending to rob the business. The owner reportedly confronted the first man, prompting the second man to pull his shirt over his own face. Police say the first man to enter pulled out a black handgun—which later turned out to be fake—and told the victim, "give me the money." While police say the victim didn't yet know the gun was fake, he was evidently undaunted by the man's demands. Car involved in short police pursuit following a shoplifting attempt.
UPDATED: Bloomfield police closed off the Bloomfield Avenue and Grove Street intersection late Thursday morning after a suspect fled police following being seen attempting to shoplift from Home Depot. Sgt. Anthony Servedio of the Bloomfield Police Department said an officer working an extra duty job called out a shoplifter leaving the Home Depot. Driving out of the parking lot, the suspect's vehicle struck but did not injure the officer. Servedio said that a few moments later, a patrol officer spotted the vehicle. When the suspect saw the patrol car, he fled and crashed into another vehicle. The suspect and an occupant from the second vehicle involved in the accident were taken to local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. …

Man arrested in Bloomfield.
Police say a Montclair resident was arrested in Bloomfield following leaving the scene of an accident in Nutley. Nutley police reported that at 2:41 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, police responded to a report of an accident near the intersection of Bloomfield and Kingsland Aves. Police say the vehicle went through the intersection at Kingsland Street and struck the small median in front of the main gate, then struck the control arm at the gate, blowing out the tires on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
