Bloomfield Donates More to Obama in 2012 Election
Residents favored Obama over the Romney more than 5-1 when it came to campaign contributions.
Bloomfield residents overwhelmingly favored President Barack Obama with their wallets in the 2012 election. Residents contributed $62,304 to Obama’s re-election campaign. This was more than five times what Republican candidate Mitt Romney received -- $12,338. The average contribution for Obama was about $88, compared to nearly $182 for Romney. The map, compiled by NJ Spotlight from an analysis of Federal Election Commission data, breaks down the number and amount of contributions by zip code. Each zip code is colored red, Republican, or blue, Democrat, depending on which party received the most in contributions.
