A brand new smartphone application available to NJ Transit riders in South Jersey to let them know bus arrival times is coming to the northern part of the state, reports NJ.com. “MyBus Now” was unveiled in December in a pilot program for bus routes near Trenton and Princeton. used in South Jersey last December. By April, it had spread to Atlantic City and Camden. A version of the program has been in Morristown since 2010. Now it's North Jersey's turn: This area is expected to have the free service by the end of the year. The app uses GPS and some proprietary technology to tell users at bus stops the buses within 30 minutes of their location. Montclair-based bus company must remove language from website, schedules that says advanced noticed is required to obtain a wheelchair-accessible bus.
The U.S. Department of Justice announced Wednesday it has reached a settlement With DeCamp Bus Lines over a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Montclair-based DeCamp has 30 days to comply with the terms of the settlement, which include removing any mentions on the bus company’s website and schedules which indicate a passenger needs to give 48 hours notice to obtain a wheelchair-accessible bus. While all DeCamp’s buses are wheelchair-accessible as required by law, and advanced notification was not needed, the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey found the bus company in violation of ADA requirements after a compliance review was performed …

Winter weather event expected to bring rain, snow to region on Tuesday.
You know December is just around the corner when stories like this start coming out. As the region prepares for winter while continuing to recover from Sandy, another storm is predicted to hit the area late Monday evening into Tuesday, providing rain and snow and ensuring messy commutes. NJ Transit will cross-honor tickets all day on Tuesday, "enabling customers to use their ticket or pass on an alternate travel mode-rail, bus or light rail," according to a press release.
