Ditto to E. Melillo's review! I've been shopping at Taj Mahal for more than 20 years. One of Bloomfield's gems.

Taj Mahal is my dream store for clothing. Their stock, available at prices that are less than half of what one would pay at a Manhattan street fair, includes marvellous Indian tops, tie-dye, and gorgeous African attire. It is a prize for ageing hippies such as myself, but I'm sure those of all ages will find a treasure if they like distinctive, inexpensive, striking clothing. (All sizes are available - I'd guess that a woman six feet tall could be fitted easily.) The only drawback is that, since the store has one or two staff on hand at most (helpful and delightful though they are), the opening time cannot be guaranteed - the shop is closed if the staff have to run an errand - and it's closed entirely if they are travelling. Best to phone first if you are coming any distance. The store is small but located right across from the Bloomfield train station, 20 minutes from Manhattan. I'd give them ten stars.
