Our little shelter is truly one of the best things going in Bloomfield and I will say it's due mainly to the wonderful core of dedicated, passionate volunteers in addition to finally getting the support from the Health Department so desperately needed in the past. So many good things have been accomplished over the last 3+ years under the supervision of Director Karen Lore. Support your local animal shelter and by all means visit (especially when the current renovations are complete). The shelter is open to the public 7 days a week from 1 pm to 4 pm. We love to meet potential adopters, but all are welcome to stop by and say hello. We especially love to meet the residents of Bloomfield whose (minimal amount of) tax dollars help keep the shelter open to care for all of the wonderful, loving, deserving homeless animals in need of good homes.
Why is the Bukowski Animal Shelter listed under "Shopping"?
Peanut is a playful Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix who desperately needs a home because his time is running out and may be euthanized. He is an energetic young boy who will climb into your lap and shower you with kisses if you dare to sit down. However, his anxiety levels have sadly increased during his shelter stay, and will need to be treated with patience and TLC. His ideal home would be with experienced dog owners and no children or cats.
