This was my daughter’s first year of school at Berkeley elementary. So far from what I have been able to observe, the teachers seem to be really nice and caring. I feel that they do a good job at teaching the material that needs to be taught, however we as parents need to re-enforce what is taught in order to see our children really succeed academically. There 2 major negative observations I have made regarding this school and they are, 1. The school seems to be very poor. They are always asking for money for fundraisers… 2. I find that the school is kind of small. The gym and auditorium are in the same room and I do not like the way the school looks on the outside. I know this is a public school and I do not expect luxury, but I have seen other public schools that look way better than Berkeley Elementary. Do I recommend this school? Yes, like I said, teachers are nice and caring; the principle is wonderful and truly loves children. I think the fact that the school is nice and clean on the inside and has a caring staff makes up for how bad it looks on the outside and all the other stuff I mentioned. Hope this review helps.
