New Cops Sworn in, Third Ward Police Substation Considered

Five new police officers to replace retiring members of the police department.

UPDATE: The original version of this article erroneously reported there would be an early start time for this week's council meeting. The meeting tonight starts at the regular 7 p.m. time. The Monday, August 19 meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. We regret the error.

According to the meeting agenda for the regular meeting of the Bloomfield Council on Monday, five new police officers will be sworn into the Bloomfield Police Department. The five new officers, Nader Sarabamoun, Tiffany Mazza, Salvatore Cordi, Matthew Rubbinaccio and Nicholas Mauriello, were appointed in July and are replacing retiring members of the department.

Bloomfield Police Chief Christopher Goul is slated to give a presentation on creating a police substation in the Third Ward prior to a council vote on a resolution on a substation.
