MLK Closings, Government and School Meetings This Week

Patch's picks for the week in Bloomfield also include recreation trips and education presentations.

On Monday, Bloomfield municipal offices and schools and the library will be closed in observance if Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

On Tuesday night, there will be a Bloomfield Township Council Conference Meeting at 6 in Room 205 of the Law Enforcement Building. This meeting will be followed by a Regular meeting at 7:30pm in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall.

Bloomfield’s Board of Education is scheduled to meet on Tuesday night at the BOE administrative building at 155 Broad Street.

On Thursday at 7:30 at Bloomfield Middle School on 60 Huck Road, the Bloomfield's School Board and the Bloomfield Education Association host University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Professor Walter C. Farrell in a presentation called “The Assault on Public Education and Public Services: A New Jersey Case Study.”

The Bloomfield Recreation Department is offering a trip to the NJ Devils vs. Edmonton Oilers game at the Prudential Center on Friday, Feb. 7.
