Tom Acton is off to the Super Bowl!

Acton's dream trip was made possible by the Bloomfield Educational Foundation

Tom Acton was the lucky winner of the 2012 year Super Bowl raffle sponsored by the Bloomfield Educational Foundation on Saturday, January 21.

BEF board members Madeline Wollner (Vice Chairman), Howard Friedman (Treasurer) and Investors Bank Assistant Manager, Edward Nejman. Joyce Vericcio, a staff member of Investors Bank, selected the winning ticket.  Michael Sceurman, Chairman of the Bloomfield Educational Foundation, made the announcement.

"We have a board member with connections to the NFL," said Ann Dassing, Executive Director at BEF, a non-profit organization dedicated to the enhancement of educational experiences for all students in the district.  "We've raffled off Super Bowl tickets for the past three years.  We weren't sure if we were going to get them this year, so we only started selling tickets four or six weeks before the drawing."

The drawing was originally going to be held during half-time at the girls’ high school basketball game on January 21, but the game was cancelled and BHS was closed due to snow that day.

The event was quickly moved to the Investors Bank Broad Street branch office.  In a statment from the BEF: "Investors Bank has been a loyal supporter of the Bloomfield Educational Foundation and the BEF wishes to thank them everyone who supported the effort, including the NFL and Marva and Merton Hanks for their generosity in donating two tickets to the 2012 Super Bowl Game."

The Super Bowl package includes tickets to the game, airfare and hotel.  Congratulations, Tom Acton!
