Musical Benefit for Bloomfield Teen

Musical ends Saturday Aug. 13

"Seussical," a colorful musical for all ages based on Dr. Seuss's beloved books, is being held Friday and Saturday at Bloomfield High School to benefit township resident, Alyssa Andolino, 18, who has mitochondrial disease.

The musical is the 62nd annual show presented by the Charles Seller Foundation, a charity theater organization.

All proceeds from the show will go to Andolino, whose mitochondria cannot produce the energy her body needs to function. She has complex 1 of the disease, which is neurodegenerative and causes seizures, migraines, cardiac issues and gastrointestinal dysmotility.
