As reported by NBC News.com, the opening ceremonies are sure to be fantastic.
"For decades, the Olympic Opening ceremonies are almost as competitive as the sports themselves, with each host city trying to one-up ints predecessors," commented NBC's Meredith Viera in a videotaped interview.
Viera said the Opening Ceremony, directed by Slum Dog Millionaire director Danny Boyle and entitled Pandemonium, will be quirky and eccentric, with lots of feathers, bikes, British humor "and a lot of heart."
Though details of the actual ceremony are a closely guarded secret (there are rumors of James Bond, Paul McCarthey and a duel between Harry Potter and Mary Poppins) Viera revealed, "If they pull it off, there's a WOW moment that will go the viral within a minute."
