Red Bull Arena Hosting Major Tournament in July

Gold Cup will feature teams from throughout the Caribbean, Americas

The Harrison home of the New York Red Bulls has been named one of 13 United States venues hosting a major soccer tournament this summer, the team announced Wednesday.

The Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Football Association (CONCACAF) Gold Cup this year includes teams from Belize, Canada, Haiti, the United States, Mexico and several other national teams, including a final participant to be determined Friday in a game between Guatemala and Panama. More than 600,000 fans watched the 13-matchday tourney in 2011, when Red Bull Arena also hosted the tournament.

This year’s tournament takes place July 7-28.

Other cities hosting CONCACAF Gold Cup matches include Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago and Seattle.
