Phase Two of the Foley Field Restoration is now underway. These photographs, submitted courtesy of Bloomfield photographer Jerry Simon, show the progress of construction during the week of July 30-August 3.
“Construction workers are in the process of building the stanchions, on which the [grand]stands will rest,” explained Steve Jenkins Bloomfield High School Athletics Director, in an email to Patch. “In addition they are digging the trenches for the drainage system.”

“They’re making good progress,” concurred Foley Field Revitalization Committee member Mike Napolitano on Thursday afternoon. “They’re pouring concrete into molds for the grandstands.”
As the photos show, the temporary bleachers have been removed and the foundations are being built for the permanent bleachers, which Napoitano said will be delivered and assembled shortly.

“This town, the board and the private sector have continued to work together and make sure this [project] happens,” Napolitano said. “It’s very gratifying. Foley Field is a lightning rod for the community. It’s galvanized the town to work together.”
