Track & Field Gold Medals Highlight Bengals Spring Season

Track and Field

• At the Kearny Relays, boys Javelin players Jeovan Santos and Mike Galli, boys shot put Serhiy Kralka and Assad Younas and girls Javelin Jess Zurlo and Haley Reynolds won gold medals. The Boys Team Finished in fourth place overall. 
• At the Ranger Relays Boys Shot Put-Serhiy Kralka and Assad Younas won gold medals. Boys Javelin Jeovan Santos and Mike Galli achieved the Meet Record. Boys 4x800 Breaks Meet Record In Fnishing Second In 8:12.81.
• At the Morris Hills Relays gold medals were won by Boys Shot Put-Serhiy Kralka, Assad Younas and Adam Wooten; Boys Javelin-Jeovan Santos, Mike Galli and Vic Olapinsin.
• At the Millburn Relays gold medals were won by Boys Shot Put-Serhiy Kralka and Assad Younas; Kralka and Marcell Lazard also won gold medals inBoys Discus.
• At the Essex County Relays the Boys Team Finished In Third Place. Gold Medals won by Boys Shot Put-Serhiy Kralka and Assad Younas; Boys Discus Serhiy Kralka and Marcell Lazard. Boys Pole Vault was Third-Jesse Touchstone and Dan Rivera-Bloomfield’s First Pole Vault Placing In Over 30 Years.
• At the Super Essex Conference Liberty Division Championship Meet Gold Medals won by Erin Mcfarlane-100m, Mike Pontrelli-800m, Jesse Touchstone-Pole Vault, Jeovan Santos-Javelin-Meet Record, Serhiy Kralka-Shot Put and Discus-Meet Records In Both.
• At the Essex County Championship the Boys Team Finished In Tenth Place. Place Winners; Serhiy Kralka-1st Place Shot Put, Tonisha Beresford-2nd Place 400 Meter, Assad Younas-4th Place Shot Put, Jeovan Santos-4th Place Javelin, Michael Pontrelli-5th Place 800 Meter.
• At the East Coast Relays Place Winners; 4x800-4th Place, Shot Put-4th Place.
• At the NJSIAA Section 1 Group Iv Championship Gold Medals won by Tonisha Beresford-400 Meter and Serhiy Kralka-Discus. Place Winners-Serhiy Kralka-second Place Shot Put, Boys 4x800 Meter Relay(Pontrelli,Philemon,Ardino,Felix)-3rd Place, Erin Mcfarlane-5th Place 200 Meter, Jeovan Santos-6th Place Javelin. All Advanced To the Group Iv Championship.
• At the Group Iv Championship, Jeovan Santos Placed fifth. Seerhiy Kralka and Tonisha Beresford Also Advanced To the Meet Of Champions As Wild Cards.
• Super Essex Conference Liberty Division First Team-Michael Pontrelli, Jesse Touchstone, Assad Younas, Serhiy Kralka, Jeovan Santos, andy Afful, Erin Mcfarlane, Tonisha Beresford. Second Team-Anthony Ardino, Sergio Campos, Kamal Medlock, Darnell Philemon, Samantha White. Honorable Mention-Conner Terrell, Ugoeze Achilike.
• Assad Younas, Serhiy Kralka, Jeovan Santos, Mike Pontrelli, Jesse Touchstone, Ryan Gonzalez, andy Afful, Tonisha Beresford Selected All-Area by Worrall Publications.
• Serhiy Kralka Selected First Team All-Essex by the Star-Ledger. Tonisha Beresford Selected Second Team All-Essex. Assad Younas and Jeovon Santos Selcted Third Team All-Essex.
• Serhiy Kralka Named Essex County Thrower Of the Year.
• Serhiy Kralka Named Third Team All-Group Iv by the Star-Ledger. 

Boys Volleyball

• Won Silver Division Of the Bengal Invitational Tournament.
• Ranked #16 In Star-Ledger Top Twenty On 4.8.13.  
• All Super Essex Conference American Division First Team Luke Jackson, Second Team Kevin Barrow and Paul Williams, Honorable Mention Joel Chamba.
• Luke Jackson Selected First Team All-Essex by the Star-Ledger. Keith Barrow Selected Second Team All-Essex. Paul Williams Named Third Team All-Essex.
• Team Ranked #15 In North Jersey.

Baseball

• Defeat #5 Ranked Seton Hall Prep On 5.3.13.
• Mike Carter, Jr Surpasses Brian Lindner As Bloomfield’s All-Time Career Hit Leader Vs Somerville On May 21,2013. Mike Finishes His Career With 152 Hits-Former Record 150.
• Sal Santora and James Torres Selected For Underclass All-Star Game At Kean University.
• James Torres Selected For Garden State Underclass All-Star Game at Diamond Nation.
• Super Essex Conference American Division First Team-Michael Carter, Chris Ferri, James Torres. Honorable Mention-Sal Santora.
• Sideline Chatter Essex County Player of the Year-Mike Carter, Jr.
• Sideline Chatter Essex County Pitcher of the Year-James Torres.
• Sideline Chatter All-Essex First Team-Mike Carter and James Torres. Honorable Mention-Chris Ferri and Sal Santora.
