Dedication of the John Gibson Track and Field Complex at Foley Field

You are cordially invited to attend the Bloomfield School District’s open house and ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the official debut of our newly renovated John Gibson Track and Field Complex at Foley Field.  The festivities will be held March 24th at 10 am at the south end of the field.

We sincerely hope you can be part of this historic event, which pays tribute to John Gibson and many others who have contributed to the illustrious history of the Bloomfield Track and Field Program.

After the ceremony, visitors are encouraged to tour the sparkling new facility, which includes a new all-weather track, long and triple jump areas, pole vault pits, shot put, discus and javelin areas as well as a new high jump pit.

Phase 1 of the Foley renovation was funded by a $2.9 million referendum, which also covered the cost of bleacher demolition and removal, a new drainage system and the installation of plumbing, gas and electric utilities.

Phase 2, now under way, will be funded in a large part by a $900,000 Green Acres Grant to build permanent bleachers, restrooms and a concession stand.
