Your Guide to Bloomfield School Election

Questions about the budget? Candidates? Patch has whipped up an all-inclusive guide for all your election needs

It's that time of year again. School board elections will take place through the state Wednesday, with polls in Bloomfield open from 1 to 9 p.m. Residents will vote for three of seven board of education (BOE) candidates and on the proposed $86.3 million 2011-12 school budget.

CANDIDATES

Seven candidates are vying for three open spots on the Bloomfield BOE. One incumbent, Susan Wolf, has decided to run for another term, while current BOE Vice President Rachel Park and member Tony Petrillo have opted not to seek re-election. The election has not been without controversy, with at a recent BOE meeting.

Polls in Bloomfield will be open from 1 to 9 p.m. Below is a list of polling places by ward, but click here to find the polling place nearest you.

First Ward: Civic Center, Franklin School, Forest Glen School, Fairview School, Fire Station No. 3

Second Ward: Brookdale School, Bloomfield Middle School, Demarest School, Oak View School

Third Ward: Fire Department Headquarters, Watsessing School, Carteret School, Berkeley School, Fire Station No. 2
