Former Bloomfield Schools Supt. Hired in Jersey City

The Jersey City school district has hired former Bloomfield Schools Superintendent Jason Bing as its new chief academic officer, the Jersey Journal reports.

Bing is the district’s first person in the newly created position and reportedly draws a $170,700 salary.

Bing resigned from the Bloomfield School District this May. He was hired in January of 2011 and signed a five-year contract. His unexpected resignation followed a prolonged school budget crisis that brought staffing cuts for the district.
