"Academically Speaking" is a contest run by the Essex County Gifted and Talented Steering Committee.  In this Jeopardy-like tournament, students answer questions in five rounds on a variety of topics including math, science, geography, sports, arts, grammar and literature and current events.  Using buzzers and answering at lightning speeds, students gain and lose points as they answer individually and in team rounds.

The 2012 Bloomfield team members are: Stephen Owens, Ellie Kallay, Estaban Palma, David Rumph, Jack Galvin, and Hampton Gaddy.
