  • John Gibson must be the happiest guy in Heaven this week as both the Bengal Track team and his great grandson Michael made history.

 

  • The Boys Track and Field team completed a sweep of The Super Essex Conference Liberty Division by winning the Championship Meet at Millburn High School. The team had earlier won the dual meet championship. Senior Steve Taste won both the long jump and high hurdles-setting meet records in both events. Junior Jeovan Santos won the Javelin also in meet record fashion. Taste led a Bengal sweep of the high hurdles and Santos a sweep of the first three javelin positions. This is the Bengals first League Championship since the 1968 Big Ten Title. Individual winners for the girls team included Jzana Dawkins-100 meter; Tonisha Beresford-200 meter and 400 meter; Anaiah Hodge-400 hurdles.

  • Junior Michael Carter collected career hit number 100 in the Baseball teams game against Seton Hall Prep. Although the squad could not overcome SHP they rebounded with a win over neighboring Belleville under the lights on Friday evening in Belleville 5-2.

 

  • Volleyball continues their yo-yo season; winning over North Bergen and East Orange but losing to Montclair.

  • Softball collected a quality win over The Mounties of Montclair.

 

  • Boys Tennis beat Technology and played well in losing a State Tournament Match to North Bergen.

 

  • The Golf team bested Science Park and East Side.

 

  • Junior Misha Kustin competed at the Junior Olympic National Gymnastics Championship in Cincinnati, Ohio. Misha placed in the top thirty overall in the entire country in his age group.
