BHS Robotics Finalists in Bionics Competition

Need a hand?

Bloomfield high school students are working on a way to make one.

The Bloomfield High School Robotics Club is one of four teams to make it to the finals in the Smithsonian Channel's Bionic Man Challenge.

The challenge tasks students with building an artificial body part from common household items. The BHS Robotics Club built a bionic hand with a pumping action allowing it to open and close. Click here for a youtube video of the project in action.

Roboticsteam captain Bijan Ameri will represent BHS at the awards ceremony at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C. on Dec. 12.
