All Schools, Including Franklin and Demarest, Will Open Tomorrow, November 3

Bloomfield Board of Education President Mary Shaughnessy said that all schools will be in session tomorrow, including Franklin and Demarest.

Franklin and Demarest schools were closed on Wednesday due to power damage from the weekend snowstorm.  Since then, crews have been working around the clock in town, with schoolyards, streets and public areas being cleared of fallen trees, branches and debris. 

As of this morning, approximately 50,000 people of area residents remained without power, according to a   That figure represents about 10% of the people whose heat and electricity was orginally impacted by the storm.  The company said its goal was to restore power to at least 95 percent of customers by Thursday.
