3 Open Seats in Upcoming Board of Ed. Election

There are three open seats on the Bloomfield Board of Education in this year's election. 

Candidates can now submit their petitions to run for a seat on the Board of Education. Each seat carries a full term of three years.

Candidates must file a nominating petition with the local school board in order to get their name on the ballot for the upcoming election.

The deadline to submit a nominating petition is 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25.

The election will be held on Tuesday, April 16.

The New Jersey School Boards Association also provides a comprehensive School Board Candidate Kit online, which can be found by clicking here.

The Candidate Kit includes a nominating petition, information about legal qualifications for school board candidacy and the role of the school board member. Information about the New Jersey School Ethics Act and important dates in the school election process are also included in the kit.
