Per an announcement from the Bloomfield Republican Party, Zach Smith and Peter Santana have joined the GOP's Bring Bloomfield Together team as at-large candidates for Bloomfield Township Council.
Santana announced his candidacy at the opening of the party's Broad Street office last month. Smith joined the ticket in late August, following reports that candidate Sharon Soon had stepped down.
"We are fortunate to have highly qualified professionals that are prepared to step in and give their all to serve the Citizens of Bloomfield.” Mayoral Candidate Russell Mollica said. “Carol and Sharon are very dear friends and I respect their decisions and greatly appreciate their community involvement in Bloomfield.”
Republicans said that attorney Santana's legal experience will be an asset in working through legal issues in Bloomfield. They said that Zach’s extensive business expertise would be a boon for town business operations.
According to the announcement, Humphreys and Soon will be involved with the campaign.
