Snow Emergency Declared, Schools Closed on Wednesday

The parking garage on Lackawanna Place will be available for parking free of charge for Bloomfield residents.

All Bloomfield schools will be closed on Wednesday due to the snowstorm, according to a message on the district''s website.

Officials have also declared a snow emergency for Bloomfield.

All cars parked on snow emergency streets must be removed from the street or they will be ticketed or towed, officials said.

Cars parked on all other streets are also encouraged to be moved off the street, officials said. 

Cars may be parked in any school parking lot during this time.  Once the snow emergency is lifted, cars should then be removed from the school lots, officials said.

The Parking Garage on Lackawanna Place will be available for free parking for Bloomfield residents, whose cars would otherwise be on the street during this passing storm.

This will be available only until Wednesday at 3 p.m.  Residents are encouraged to use this on a first come, first serve basis.
