Maribel Perez is leaving the Board of Education and looking
to join Bloomfield’s township Council.
At the Bloomfield Republican County Committee meeting last week, a unanimous vote placed Maribel Perez on the Republican slate for Council-At-Large.
Perez replaces Robert Goworek, who Bloomfield Republicans said, resigned due to personal reasons.
After the meeting the candidates for Mayor and Council-At-Large joined a fundraising reception with over 100 people in attendance at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
"We are thrilled to have Maribel join the Republican ticket for the Counil-At-Large seat," Bloomfield Republican Committee Chair Luis Linares said in an email. “Maribel is a respected member of our community, who has a strong commitment to Bloomfield as demonstrated by all of her efforts on the Board of Education. She will bring a lot of experience to the ticket.”
With the campaign announcement, Perez joins Mayoral candidate Russell Mollica and council-at-large candidates Carol Humphreys and Sharon Soon.
