Government Meetings and More in the Week Ahead for Bloomfield

A look ahead at noteworthy upcoming stories and events.

At their meeting on Monday night at 7, Council members make their final vote on changing the rules regulating recording of public meetings and municipal offices.

According to the new ordinance, Members of the Council and the general public are prohibited from using cellphones or type of voice communication devices during meetings. The rule requires that phones to be placed on vibrate or silent mode during the Meeting.

Also, Council members are prohibited from text messaging, emailing or communicating with any one or multiple Council members during any meeting regarding any agenda item or any matter dealing with the Township of Bloomfield. In addition, residents will need to alert officials of their wish to record meetings at least ten minutes before the meeting.
