Brookdale Park Will Shine Brighter

New lights will be installed around Essex County park this fall.

Things are looking brighter for Essex County's Brookdale Park.

New lampposts along walking paths, roadways and parking lots will be installed this fall in the 43-acre park straddling Montclair and Bloomfield, according to Essex County Freeholder Brendan Gill.

The $455,600 project is funded through the Essex County Recreation and Open Space Trust Fund.

“Preserving open space is good for the environment, and it’s great for the free public events that we put on, like the annual summer concert series,” said Gill upon approving funding for the project.

The work is expected to be completed in mid-December.
