Bloomfield Officials Have Busy Conference Meeting

Township officials will discuss a lease agreement for Foley Field, consider renewing a contract with Comcast and talk about setting up a possible rent leveling committee

The Bloomfield Township Council will have a busy meeting tonight with several topics up for discussion, including:

■ Drawing up a resolution between the township council and Essex County government in connection to Heritage Village, a proposed 82-unit affordable housing complex for senior citizens and people with disabilities;
■ Discussing a lease agreement for Foley Field;
■ Discussing the possible renewal of a contract with Comcast to provide cable television and a cable communications system in the township;
■ Discussing possible change to the township's recycling ordinance;
■ Adopting a rent-leveling ordinance;
■ Consideration of resolutions against hate crimes, anti-bullying and creating a Sept. 11 moment of rememberance, and
■ Appointing a secretary for the mayor and township council, a part-time file clerk for the building department, and appointing members to the township's recycling committee and rent leveling committee.
