Booker Endorses Venezia for Bloomfield Mayor
The two Democrats showed their support for each other at an event Saturday on Broughton Avenue.
Newark mayor and U.S. Senate candidate Cory Booker stopped by the Venezia Team campaign headquarters on Broughton Avenue Saturday, where the candidates showed their mutual admiration.
Booker officially endorsed Bloomfield Councilman and mayoral candidate Michael Venezia and his council at-large running mates Joseph Lopez, Wartyna “Nina” Davis and Carlos Pomares. In return, the Venezia ticket threw its support to the Newark mayor's bid to replace the late Sen. Frank Lautenberg on Capitol Hill.
“Cory is a good friend," Venezia said. "I am honored to have his support and
wholeheartedly support him for U.S. Senate.”
