$65M Bloomfield Center Redevelopment Can Proceed, Appellate Court Rules

Retail-residential development approved in 2011 overcomes legal obstacle in its bid to move forward.

The appellate body upheld Superior Court Judge Carolyn E. Wright's 2012 dismissal of a lawsuit by Bloomfield Joint Venture developer Cary Heller  that alleged improper tactics by the Bloomfield Parking Authority, Bloomfield Planning Board and developer Bloomfield Center Urban Renewal LLC.

Glenwood Village, whose plan won Planning Board approval in May 2011, is planned for a three-acre area across from Bloomfield Station, the article said, and would entail 50,000 square feet of retail, 10,000 square feet of restaurants, 224 residential units and a 439-space parking garage.
