Thieves Snatched Fanny Pack from 63-Year-old Woman, Cops Say

Robber reportedly escaped in silver SUV.

Bloomfield police said a 63-year-old woman was the victim of a daytime street robbery.

Police said that shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, a 63-year-old Bloomfield woman reported she had been robbed on Newark Ave.

The woman said she was approached by a man who grabbed the fanny pack she was wearing around her waist before entering a silver 4 door SUV parked on Newark Ave.

The vehicle, reportedly containing the robber and a second suspect, drove toward Belleville on Newark Ave.

The victim described the pair as black men in their 20s.

Police unsuccessfully searched the area for the suspects and the vehicle.
