Thief Snatched iPhone From Teen on Street, Police Say

Bloomfield police said the man hit the boy when he tried to get his phone back.

Bloomfield police said a thief snatched an iPhone from a teen walking on a township road earlier this month.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov 4, a 15-year-old Bloomfield resident was robbed of his iPhone while walking in the area of Bay Ave. and Hoover Ave., Bloomfield police said.

The victim told police a heavyset Hispanic male, approximately 5’11” tall in his late teens or early 20s and wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, grabbed his iPhone while he was walking and ran towards Brookside Park.

The victim told police the thieve was with two black males, 5’10” or 5’11” tall, in their late teens or early 20s and wearing hooded sweatshirts, one green and one grey.

The victim reportedly chased the thief until the suspect turned and hit the victim several times.

Officers searched the area for the suspects, but were unable to locate anyone.
