Police: Broad Street Store Robbed at Gunpoint

Suspects described as two tall black males.

Bloomfield police say that two armed men robbed a Broad Street convenience store earlier this month, making off with cash and cigarettes.

According to a police report, on Wednesday, Feb. 13, two black males entered a convenience store on Broad St. with what police describe as obvious intentions of committing a robbery.

The first suspect, described as 6 feet tall and wearing jeans,  a black ski mask and a burgundy jacket with the letters “NW” on the front,  reportedly pulled out a silver automatic handgun and ordered the manager to get on the floor.

Police did not say if the second suspect, described as being 5’11” tall and wearing a black ski mask, black jacket and blue jeans, was armed, but reported he was wearing a black backpack. 

The thieves reportedly fled on foot on Benson St. towards Glen Ridge with an undetermined amount of cash and Newport cigarettes.
