Police Blotter: Two Daytime Robberies Reported

Tire slasher strikes twice on Kilmer Court

Residential Burglary

April 8: A person reported someone entered her apartment on the 400 block of Belleville Avenue and stole a Sony television.

A person reported someone pried open his garage door on the 200 block of Newark Avenue and ransacked the interior. Nothing is reported missing at this time.

April 11: A person reported someone entered his rear porch and stole a one-of-a-kind $4,000 bicycle.

Commercial Burglary

April 9: A person reported that sometime between 8 p.m. on April 8 and 11 a.m. on April 9, someone forced open a rear door of a property on the 200 block of Bloomfield Avenue and stole money from the coin boxes of the laundry machines.

Stolen Vehicles

April 5: A 1998 tan, four-door Toyota with New Jersey license plate number YYB98T was reported stolen from an unknown location.

April 6: A 2003 red, four-door Ford Explorer with New Jersey license plate number SSN72V was reported stolen from the 100 block of Grove Street.

A 1999 grey, four-door Jeep with New Jersey license plate number LSZ76T was reported stolen from the 100 block of Morse Avenue.

A 2001 green Ford wagon with New Jersey license plate number NF19803 was reported stolen from the 100 block of Arlington Avenue.

Attempted Theft of Vehicles

April 5: A person reported someone attempted to steal his vehicle parked on the 100 block of Elmwood Avenue by causing damage to the steering column. The interior was ransacked and the insurance and registration cards were stolen.

April 8: A person reported her vehicle’s ignition was broken and the interior of her vehicle had been ransacked while it was parked on the 200 block of Ampere Parkway. Reported stolen are a GPS unit, a leather coat, a car radio and the vehicle’s extra tire.

Theft from Vehicles

April 5: A person reported some time overnight, someone broke into his vehicle parked on the 200 block of N. 15th Street and stole $4,500 worth of tools such as Snap-On tools and engine scanners.

April 6: A person reported that while her vehicle was being serviced at the BMW dealer on Bloomfield Avenue, her PBA shield was stolen from the vehicle.

A person reported three suspects, described as black males, broke into his truck parked on Abington Avenue and N. 15th Street and stole two sets of keys. The suspects fled the area in a black BMW.

A person reported someone broke into his vehicle parked at 9 Berkeley Avenue and stole a car radio.

April 7: A person reported several items had been stolen from his vehicle parked on the 400 block of Bloomfield Avenue, including a checkbook, a birth certificate and a pair of sunglasses.

Theft

April 9: A person reported her pocketbook was stolen from her shopping cart at around 8:30 p.m. on Franklin Street.

A person reported that while she was shopping, someone stole her wallet out of her pocketbook on Belleville Avenue.

Robbery

April 5: Two juveniles were robbed by three suspects, described as black males in their late teens to early twenties, at around 6:25 p.m. on LaFrance and Chester Avenues. Suspects allegedly threatened the use of a firearm, but none was shown. After stealing a book bag and cell phone, the suspects fled in a red minivan-type vehicle.

April 9: A person reported she was robbed at gun-point and then locked in the bathroom of her store on 1st Avenue at 12:15 p.m. The suspect is described as a 5-foot, 4-inch to 5-foot, 6-inch male with medium complexion and facial hair on his chin, in his late twenties, wearing a black sweater, black hat.

Criminal Mischief

April 5: A person reported someone slashed the tires of his vehicle parked on Kilmer Court.

April 8: A person reported someone slashed the front left tire of her vehicle parked on the 100 block of Broad Street.

April 10: A person reported someone shot a BB gun at the second floor window of his residence on the 100 block of Spring Street.

April 11: A person reported someone slashed a tire on his vehicle parked on Kilmer Court.

Arrests

April 5: James Bittle of Newark, N.J. was arrested for outstanding warrants.

Felicia Valentin of Newark, N.J. was arrested for possession of a weapon, possession of controlled dangerous substances, possession of controlled dangerous substances paraphernalia, and forgery.

April 6: Neil Ciccone Jr. of Bloomfield was arrested and charged with burglary and theft in connection to a commercial burglary of a convenience store located at 128 Montgomery St.

Valerie Tomassini of Bayonne, N.J. was arrested and charged with burglary, theft, and conspiracy for a home burglary on Reigate Road on March 29.

Francisco Villafane of Union City, N.J. was arrested and charged with burglary, theft, and conspiracy for a home burglary on Reigate Road on March 29.

Angel Tirado of Newark, N.J. was arrested for theft of movable property.

Michael Pica of Bloomfield was arrested for obstruction.

Rashad Wilson of East Orange, N.J. was arrested for hindering apprehension and outstanding warrants.

April 8: David Bender of East Orange, N.J. was arrested for DWI.

Luis Garcia of Newark, N.J. was arrested for shoplifting.

April 11: Tanesha Bynes of East Orange, N.J. was arrested for multiple controlled dangerous substances charges, resisting arrest, hindering apprehension, and DWI.

Christopher Dubose of East Orange, N.J. was arrested for multiple controlled dangerous substances charges.

Michael Boger of East Orange, N.J. was arrested for multiple controlled dangerous substances charges and DWI.

Ezequiel Chiozza of Elizabeth, N.J. was arrested and charged with attempting to lure an adult into a vehicle.
