Thieves Make Off with Laptops, Jewelry While Homeowners Sleep

The following information has been provided by the Bloomfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

BURGLARY
Jan. 28: Bloomfield police are investigating a burglary on the 100 block of Parkway West.

The homeowner told police someone entered the home through a livingroom window while they were sleeping and stole a 17-inch laptop, a New Jersey driver’s license, several credit cards, an engagement ring, a wedding band and an iPhone.

Jan. 28: Bloomfield police are investigating a burglary on the 300 block of Bloomfield Avenue in which someone entered an apartment through an open window while the residents were sleeping and stole a laptop computer.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Jan. 29: A laundromat owner at 25 Belleville Avenue said someone entered his business and stole $1,600 from the cash register.

 

STOLEN VEHICLES
Jan. 25: A 1994 Honda was reported stolen from Thornton Street.

Jan. 25: A 1997 Toyota was reported stolen from the 100 block of North 13 Street.

 

ATTEMPT THEFT AUTO
Jan. 28:  There was a report of an attempt to steal a 1994 Jeep from the 100 block of Glenwood Avenue.

 

ROBBERY
Jan. 24: A witness told police he saw two men assault another man on the 100 block of Washington Street.

The victim was uncooperative with police.  It is unknown what was taken.

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
Jan. 25: A man reported that a woman he did not know threw a rock through his front window at 45 Broad Street after he refused to sell her alcohol.

 

ARRESTS
Jan. 24:  Ryan Henry was arrested for robbery.

Jan. 27: Tomero McAllister of Irvington was arrested for outstanding warrants.

Jan. 27: Peter Evans of Matawan was arrested for outstanding warrants.            

Jan. 29: Anthony Franchino of Flanders was arrested for shoplifting.

Jan. 30: James Mirassol of Bloomfield was arrested for armed robbery, possession. of  a weapon and theft.

Jan. 31: Melanie Aikens of East Orange was arrested for contempt.

Jan. 30: Nicholas Zappulla of Nutley was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jan. 30: Mark Piacenza of Bloomfield was arrested for outstanding warrants.
