Police Blotter: Strong-Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bloomfield police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Residential Burglary

Aug. 16: A resident in the 100 block of Liberty Street told police that someone cut the lock on his shed and removed a tiller, as well as a three-wheeled bicycle and several tools.

Aug. 17:  A resident in the 100 block of Stockton Street told police someone entered his home and removed an XBox video game system and 20 games. There were no signs of forced entry.

Aug. 19:  A resident in the 100 block of Oakland Avenue told police upon arriving home she found a black man in his 20’s standing in her kitchen. After yelling at him, the suspect fled the apartment. It is unknown at this time if anything was stolen.

Aug. 21:  A resident in the 100 block of Rawson Street. reported someone entered his garage between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. and stole two dirt bikes.

Aug. 22:  A resident in the 100 block of John Street reported someone broke into her home through a window and stole jewelry, as well as a camera.

Aug. 23:  A resident in the 100 block of Parkview Drive told police while she was on vacation someone broke into her home through a second floor window and stole a television and a DVD player.

Aug. 20: 2010 white BMW 335 was stolen from the 100 block of Franklin Street.

Theft From Vehicles

Aug. 18:  A person in the 100 block of Baldwin Place told police someone damaged the door locks on his parked vehicle.

Aug. 19:  A person in the 200 block of Overlook Terrace reported someone entered her vehicle and ransacked the interior. The vehicle's manual was reported stolen.

Aug. 22:  A person in the 100 block of Gracel Street told police someone entered her vehicle and stole a number of items including a GPS unit, iPod, tote bag, and loose change.

Aug. 22:  A person in the 100 block of Barbara Street told police someone broke into her vehicle and stole numerous items including an iPod and its charger, a cell phone charger, clothing, a carry bag, and cash.

Theft

Aug. 16:  A person in the 100 block of Franklin Street told police someone stole her purse from her shopping cart.

Aug. 16:  A person in the 800 block of Broad Street said someone removed a spoiler from his parked vehicle 2007 Infiniti G35. 

Aug. 18:  A black man driving a gold colored Lexus in the 100 block of Bloomfield Avenue reportedly put $52 of gas into his vehicle and fled without paying for it. 

Aug. 18:  A person in the 100 block of Ashland Avenue told police someone stole her wallet from her parked vehicle.

Aug. 18:  A resident in the 100 block of Franklin St. reported someone stole her wallet while her daughter threw a party in their apartment.

Aug. 20:  A business owner in the 1200 block of Broad Street said a black man has been stealing stacks of newspapers from the front of his store during the early morning hours.

Robbery

Aug. 19:  At 6:06 p.m., a person was approached from the rear and thrown to the ground in front of 206 Belleville Avenue. The suspect then stole the victim’s wallet before fleeing the area.  A short time later, police apprehended the suspect, Todd S. Allen of Newark. Allen was also charged for the Aug. 1 strong-arm robbery at the same location.

Aug. 19:  A man reported told police he was robbed by two Hispanic women at 8:15 p.m. at the corner of Glenwood and Conger streets. He had offered a ride to Newark from Bloomfield. As they left the vehicle, the women stole the victim’s wallet, which was in his shirt pocket, as well as a GPS unit, a cell phone, and various identification cards.

Criminal Mischief

Aug. 7:  A person in the 100 block of Baldwin Street told police someone broke the driver's side mirror of her vehicle.

Aug. 7:  A person in the 100 block of Lewis Street told police someone broke the driver side door handle of her vehicle.

Aug. 7:  A person reported someone broke the driver side door lock on his vehicle at the corner of Oakland Avenue and Fremont Street. The vechicle was not entered.

Aug. 15:  A person in the 100 block of Conger Street reported someone left two pieces of paper on his windshield stating “No Shame” and "we want new management."

Aug. 15:  A person in the 200 block of Belleville Avenue told police someone broke the rear windshield wiper on her parked vehicle.

Aug. 16:  A person in the 400 block of Beardsley Avenue reported someone slashed the rear tires on her parked vehicle.

Aug. 17: A person in the 100 block of Carlton Terrace told police someone threw an object at her vehicle, resulting in damage.

Aug. 22:  Graffitti was reported to have been written on a property in the 100 block of Ward Street.

Aug. 22:  Graffitti was reported to have been written on a property in the 100 block of Washington Street.

Aug. 22:  Two vehicles parked in the 1000 block of Broad Street were egged and spray-painted.

Aug. 17:  Someone in the 100 block of Franklin Street. reported a Hispanic woman attempted to use another’s credit card to fraudulently purchase items.

Aug. 16: Steven Douglas of Elizabeth was arrested for writing bad checks.

Aug. 16:  Reginald Murphy of Newark was arrested for shoplifting & assault.

Aug. 17:  Maurice James Easter of Bloomfield was arrested for outstanding warrants.

Aug. 17:  Mark Bradley of East Orange was arrested for defiant trespassing.

Aug. 17:  Terrell Henry of Newark was arrested for shoplifting.

Aug. 19:  Shaheem L. Lovelace of Paterson was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Aug. 19:  Todd S. Allen of Newark was arrested and charged with two counts of second degree robbery.

Aug. 22:  Eduardo De Jesus Pereza of Bloomfield was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Aug. 22:  Eliel Reyes of Newark was arrested for outstanding warrants.

Aug. 23:  Adalberto H. Arroyo of Bloomfield was arrested for outstanding warrants.
