Mugging on Glenwood Avenue and Two Stolen Motorcycles

The following information has been provided by the Bloomfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

BURGLARY
Feb. 14: A woman reported an intruder forced open the side door to her home on the 500 block of Broughton Avenue and stole a DVD player.

Feb. 16: Bloomfield police are reporting a burglary on the 100 block of Thomas Street in which a Nintendo DS game system, bath supplies and miscellaneous items were stolen. There was no sign of a forced entry.

Feb. 16: A women who had been away from home from February 13-16 found the side door to her home on the 100 block of Stone Street had been forced open. Nothing appeared to be missing.

 Feb. 18: A woman reported someone removed a black Columbia jacket from her dorm room on the 460 block of Franklin Street. There was no sign of a forced entry.

Feb. 18: A woman reported someone broke into her storage locker at 211 Grove St. and stole two 32-inch televisions, a digital camera and a pair of boots.

Feb. 20:
A man reported someone broke into his garage on the 200 block of Davey Street and stole his 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle.  He also reported that all of his DJ equipmenthas been stolen.

 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Feb. 19: An office at 572 Bloomfield Ave. was ransacked, but nothing was reported stolen.

 

STOLEN VEHICLES
Feb. 15:  A 1996 Jeep was reported stolen from the 50 block of Grove Street.

Feb. 17: A 2003 Volvo tractor and trailer were reported stolen from the 50 block of Franklin Street.

Feb. 18: A 2003 Toyota was reported stolen from the 20 block of Clarendon Place.

Feb. 20: A 2001 Dodge was reported stolen from the 100 block of Morse Avenue.

Feb. 20: A 2003 Suzuki motorcycle was reported stolen from the 200 block of Davey Street.

 

THEFT FROM VEHICLES
Feb. 13: The passenger-side widow was reported broken and a GPS removed from the glove box on the 100 block of Park Avenue.

Feb. 15: The rear window of a Chevy was broken and miscellaneous tools were missing on the 100 block of Bloomfield Avenue.

 

THEFT
Feb. 17: Bloomfield police are investigating the theft of $25 worth of newspapers from the front of a store at 37 Carteret St.

 

ROBBERY
Feb. 15: Bloomfield police are investigating a home invasion on the 100 block of Bolton Place.

The victims said two black men forced their way into the residence as one of the victims was leaving and assaulted one of the occupants.

The suspects fled via the front door and into the rear yard, which leads to the power lines that run from Clifton & Nutley. Nothing was reported missing.  (See full report here.)

Feb. 17: A woman who was walking near the 200 block of Glenwood Avenue reported a black man wearing dark clothing grabbed the pocketbook she was carrying and fled south down the street.

Feb. 18: Bloomfield police are investigating a robbery on Orchard Street near the train tracks in which a pair of sneakers, a cell phone and gym bag were stolen.

According to police, the victim said two black men approached him and his friend. One of the suspects assaulted his friend and the other suspect pointed a silver handgun at him. The victim said nothing was taken from him.

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
Feb. 18: Bloomfield police are investigating damage to the roof and windshield of a 2004 Honda on the 50 block of Davey Street.

 

ARRESTS
Feb. 17: Armando Vaquero of Bloomfield was arrested for DWI.

Feb. 17: Danielle Kelly of East Orange was arrested for DWI and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Feb. 19:  Phillip Taylor of Bloomfield was arrested for hindering.

Feb. 19:  Joshua Cicio of Roselle was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
