Police Blotter: Many Minor Thefts Hit Township

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bloomfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Residential burglary
July 7: A woman who lives on the 20 block of Stockton Street reported someone entered her home through a kitchen window. Nothing was reported missing.
July 7: A man who lives on the 900 block of Broad Street reported a lock was broken from a basement storage unit and a tool bag was stolen.
July 7: A woman who lives in the 100 block of Franklin Street reported a yellow laptop was stolen from her apartment while she was in another room.
July 11: A man on the 30 block of Oakland Avenue reported someone broke in his front door and stole $150.

Stolen vehicles

July 6: A 2005 silver Toyota Corolla was taken from Washington and Franklin streets sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 7:50 a.m.

July 6: A 2007 black Honda 4dr was taken from N. 16th St. around 9 p.m.

Theft from vehicles
July 6: A man reported someone broke into his vehicle while it was parked at Williamson and Belleville avenues and stole a Blackberry cellphone and a state Department of Law and Public Safety badge and identification card.
July 8: A man reported someone broke into his vehicle on the 160 block of State Street. Nothing was reported missing.
July 9: A woman reported someone unlocked her vehicle on the 60 block of Monroe Place and stole a briefcase containing a laptop and nursing license.
July 9: A man reported someone broke into his vehicle on the 40 block of Willard Avenue, stole a credit card and charged $173 on it.
July 9: A man reported someone smashed the rear window of his vehicle at the 100 block of Saddler Road.
July 9: A man reported the driver side mirror to his vehicle was broken at the 90 block of North 15th Street.
July 9: A woman reported someone entered her vehicle at Berkley and Farandale avenues and stole a GPS and phone charger.
July 9: A women reported someone entered her vehicle at the 110 block of North 16th Street and stole a GPS.

Theft
July 7: A woman shopping at the Franklin Square Shopping Center on Franklin Street reported someone removed $100 from her pocketbook.
July 7: A woman on the 200 block of Hoover Avenue reported someone took her son’s bicycle from the backyard.
July 8: A woman on the 10 block of Montgomery Street reported someone took a grill from the backyard.
July 9: A woman reported someone stole her daughter’s bicycle from the front of Holsteins on Broad Street.
July 9: A woman reported someone took $100 from her purse at the BMW dealership on Bloomfield Avenue.

Robbery
July 7: A woman shopping at the Franklin Square Shopping Center on Franklin Street reported a man grabbed her by the neck and fled with her purse. A male bystander chased after the suspect and the suspect dropped the purse, which was returned to the victim.
July 10: A woman who was at the intersection of Beardsley Avenue and North 17th Street reported a man pushed her from behind, grabbed her purse and got away in a waiting green sports utility vehicle.

Criminal mischief
July 5: A house on the 300 block of Berkley Avenue reportedly had damage to a retaining wall in the front of the property and a trash can fire was lit in the backyard.
July 7: The words “Kelly and Reg” was reported spray painted on a rear wall and company truck at 225 Belleville Ave.
July 9: A woman on the 10 block of Second Street reported that the words “SFZEBO” was spray painted on her fence.
July 10: A woman on the 300 block of Berkley Avenue reported her vehicle was scratched up.
July 10: A woman on the 160 block of Grove Street reported her front door window was broken.

Arrests
July 5: Ron Trovato, of Bloomfield, was arrested on outstanding warrants.
July 6: Ronald Field, of Elizabeth, was arrested on outstanding warrants.
July 7: Kenneth Barno, of East Orange, was arrested on outstanding warrants.
July 7: Juan Conception, of Newark, was arrested for possession of a dangerous controlled substance.
